Today is our 20th Anniversary.....

I can't believe it has already been 20 years, Matt and I were high school sweethearts we started dating before our senior year although we knew each other since we were freshman. He proposed to me after graduating from high school so we set the date a year from then, 1988. If I would have thought about it we never would have married in the summer as Matt is a wild land fire fighter and is often not home in August (and sometimes July and sometimes September too) but he does love his job so I can't complain much about that. He has missed many of our anniversaries and my birthday too -- but....I think I am use to that by now. He is gone today in Oregon fighting fire. I did receive a lovely bouquet of flowers at work today and we will go out to dinner sometime when he is back home (November???) Matt's parents were oh so kind to invite me and the boys over for dinner tonight so I did not have to cook, that was cool. Here's to 20 years of happiness and many many more.

Oh, the toads

Toading has always been a popular sport with the boys, from the first time we camped there. When it gets dark the toads like to head towards the water. The boys like to see how many they can catch then they let them go.

Kayaking, no white water here.

The boys definately find no problem when it comes to entertaining themselves.

Lake Roosevelt

Lake Roosevelt, probably one of our favorite places to go, we have been camping there for years. We use to go over Fourth of July and stay a week at a time. We would load up our 24 foot pontoon boat with all our camping supplies, the dogs, the kids and the cousins. We would have a blast. Two Rivers Casino would put on a huge firework display for the 4th. We gave up going there over the fourth because it just became to popular of a place to go and became harder and harder to find a campsite each year, so we decided we would go at a different time during the summer in hopes of getting a good camping spot. Then with Matt’s job and selling the pontoon we missed out on camping there the last couple years. We went once in our 16 foot Bayliner (the boat we bought after selling the pontoon) but it just wasn’t the same, we couldn’t haul everything we wanted, the dogs didn’t get to go as we had no room for them. We couldn’t take all 4 kayaks either. But now with the new boat we are back in business. It hauled it all!! I wish I would have gotten a picture of the boat loaded down, next time. So we decided to escape for the weekend and go boat camping. We enjoyed it so much. It’s nice to get away from the phones, the TV, computers, Matt’s radio etc…etc…
Back in the early days. There is always so much to do when camping there; rockhounding (one of my favorite pasttimes) fishing, swimming, boating, tubing, kayaking, toading, playing in the sand.

Jasper

This was Jaspers first time to go boat camping. He played until he was exhausted, although we have not yet got him to play kayak frisbee when we are all playing. He sits on the beach and wines, doesn't like to be left out yet doesn't want to play.

Our boat....

or should I say Matt's dream boat, it's a Duckworth so we named her "FOWL PLAY". Matt has forever wanted a boat like this so last December while snowmobile searching we came across this boat that was too good of a deal to pass up.
